Art was something that always pulled me in every aspect of life, be it painting, designing or photography.

I grew up looking at and wearing very colorful clothes with beautiful designs, prints and various type of fabrics. I was always fascinated and keen on thinking outside the box to achieve something out of the ordinary, like a dress that I made from cotton sheets.

I founded my first company Aashmika Creations based totally on “out of the box” designs & creations. I have held many exhibitions all around the country where I was born, with countless happy clients who wanted something different. Fashion designing gave me the satisfaction of creating something new every day!

Fresh out of college, I wanted to make a difference. With the limited resources and a degree in finance, I started with helping out at a health care charitable institution for the poor, managing accounts.

I have been donating my own hair, money & promoting the cause for St Jude's Children’s research foundation for past several years. Over the years, I have helped numerous causes, people & charities. "The world will be a better place if everyone can do something for others". I strongly believe in "Paying it forward"

I love traveling. It can be for fun, for a cause, for inner core. Travel helps spirituality, opens up your mind to everything new...new possibilities, new ideas, new perspective to life & beyond. Travel is one of my passions...to explore, to get lost in the nature, to meet new people & know their cultures, to try new foods (vegetarian of course!) I write blogs on travel destinations, food, art & much more...
Abstract Art – Is it really art?
Let’s start from the most obvious statement of all time – abstract art is not for everyone.
Abstract art is only for those who understand, respect and comprehend. For all others, it may appear as a haphazard or untidy work of a child.
So, the bottom line is a few may understand what abstract art is, few may like it, while most may even hate it outright.
Abstract art can also be referred to as nonrepresentational art. It’s most distanced from any real life, representational indications.
This form of art does not and will not have any formal structure. The artists’ imagination, thoughts, feelings, ideas, composition will dictate the form of art. The beauty of abstract art is in the thoughts, feelings and the entirely unique way of expressing what’s in the mind on a physical layer.
There are absolutely no constraints to create abstract art – right from any drawing, image, characteristic, two or three dimensional, any object, material or surface.
Even imagination may not be the limit!
An excerpt from The New York Times Magazine: “By rigorously eliminating any trace of a recognizable subject matter in art and giving a radical priority to the most impersonal aspects of pictorial form, the creators of geometric abstraction have redefined the nature of esthetic experience. In the wake of their achievement, the very notion of ''content'' in art has become problematical - a subject of research and speculation for philosophers and moralists as well as for critics and art historians.”
